BIG/MAX

RE/MAX Balloon Fleet

A company image seven stories tall. Multiply that by more than 120 and you have one of the largest fleets of hot air balloons in the world. Across North America and increasingly around the globe, the red, white and blue balloons emblazoned with the RE/MAX logo participate in balloon meets, highlight charitable and business promotions, and drift above athletic events.

And as the size of the fleet continues to grow, images of the tricolor RE/MAX Balloon logo multiply through every visual form of advertising and promotion. The RE/MAX Balloon, its logo form, and the accompanying “Above the Crowd!®” slogan are equated in the public mind with the RE/MAX organization.

Promotion and Advertising

Besides highlighting promotional events, the RE/MAX Balloon also appears at local community events such as fundraisers, fairs, parades and more! A special program, known as Challenge the Wind, has been created as well with the sole aim of introducing school classes to the art of ballooning. This educational program is geared toward Grades 4 through 8 and teaches children the aeronautics of hot air ballooning.

Chris Mooney: New England’s own Balloon Pilot

RE/MAX of New England owns two “BIG MAX” hot air balloons, which are available for our Membership at no cost. BIG MAX flies 365 days a year and makes appearances at balloon festivals, town days, community, road events, office grand openings, and more! On average there are 150 promotions and balloon appearances each year.

Our Hot Air Balloon Pilot, Chris Mooney, has been a crucial part of the RE/MAX family, piloting the Balloon since 1986. Chris first began flying balloons in 1977 and when asked what he thinks the best balloon events are, Chris states “The larger the event, the more effective it is going to be. The presence of the balloon is so powerful that a lot of people think that it is our event. In addition to these events, the ‘Challenge the Wind’ school program can generate a lot of exposure in the local newspapers. It has been my experience that local newspapers love to hear upbeat stories about schools and the special programs for children.”
