Overall the Housing Market in New England Trends Flat Over Last Year

By RE/MAX of New England - Last updated: Wednesday, November 16, 2011

The RE/MAX of New England October Monthly Housing Report shows relatively flat year-over-year home sales across New England. The region’s states were split this month with New England’s two largest states, MA and CT experiencing declines in homes sales of -2.4% and -7% respectively. Overall pricing continues to decline with only Maine showing a slight increase at .3%.

“As we transition into the winter season, we can expect a slower housing market which will in turn put pressure on pricing,” said Jay Hummer, Executive Vice President, RE/MAX of New England. “However, lower prices and low interest rates will continue to motivate first-time and investment buyers.”
