Congratulations to RE/MAX Associate Kathie Desautels from RE/MAX North Professionals in Colchester, VT who was recently elected as the President of the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors!

Kathie’s success and reputation wasn’t formed overnight.  "I’ve been actively involved in selling residential real estate for 7+ years now.  I started as the Chair of the Education Committee as I am passionate about raising the bar for all real estate professionals.  I then approached a board member letting them know I was interested in serving on the board in some capacity as soon as a vacancy needed to be filled.  That same year I was elected Secretary of the Northwestern Vermont Board of Realtors (NVBR).  The following year I was elected President-Elect and this year I was elected the President of NVBR" Desautels said.
Among the benefits of her new role are the many networking and referral opportunities. "As President, I am exposed to the entire membership and its affiliates though membership meetings, board meetings, socials, etc.  I am now also involved on a State and National level as I now attend the NAR annual and mid-year conferences.  The referral opportunities that come from these meetings are fantastic."  
The referral business; however, is not why Kathie got involved. "The main benefit is you have an opportunity to make a difference.  It is also important to understand the behind the scenes workings.  I feel like it is my duty to raise the bar so all practicing Realtors are competent and trustworthy and are a valued resource to the community."
In addition to her current and past roles, Kathie holds extensive real estate designations including Accredited Buyer Specialist (ABR) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Short Sales & Foreclosures Resource (SFR).
